What

Our initiative is for all St. Pius X High School students to come together and celebrate black history. There is an evident gap between all communities at Pius and this is a chance to come together and share our experiences as black students or as students who have questions about the community. It is important that these safe spaces are created so minority students feel heard and understood by their school. This month may also be therapy to many having a chance at being educated further on their history, diaspora, and communities.

In their words: “Success would like making connections with students from different areas of the school. It would be like finally bridging a disconnect between the different demographics of the school, which is built by creating safe spaces for students to speak their hearts.”
